The Denver Croquet Club has been chosen by the United States Croquet Association to host the 2016 National 9 Wicket Championship Tournament from June 16th to June 19th, 2016.
This year the National 9 Wicket Championship will be played in Denver, Colorado. The Denver Croquet Club, located in the historic Washington Park will host the tournament. This is a beautiful time of year to be in Denver and a great kickoff for a summer trip out West.
The Denver Croquet Club is encouraging all croquet players to enter this tournament or at least come out for the free lessons. A schedule of free lessons times and locations will be available in April on the Denver Croquet Club web site. This 9 Wicket tournament is open to all players with the handicapping done by the USCA. This tournament will have nationally ranked players that play all four of the Official Croquets. However, the USCA and DCrC will have different flights for those nationally ranked and flights all the way to beginners.
FREE lessons are available at 6 pm on Monday, May 23rd and Monday, May 30th at the Lawn in Washington Park.
June 16 will be warm up and final day of lessons for all players.
June 17 will be official start with Doubles.
Tournament finals will be on Sunday June 19th.
There will be Championship singles and doubles play and First Flight Singles. This year we hope to get many new players from the local area on the courts for our open First Flight.
Matt Baird (mrbaird@swbell.net) will be the Tournament Director.
